Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

A closer look at the story

Captain Jack Sparrow's path crosses once more with Angelica, a dangerous and captivating woman from his past. Jack cannot tell whether what lies between them is love or a ruthless con by someone who means to use him. What Angelica is after is the legendary Fountain of Youth, and she forces Jack to face the dreaded pirate Blackbeard, who will risk anything to win immortality. Nor are they the only ones searching: the British and Spanish navies are heading for the same prize. Directed by Rob Marshall, with Ted Elliott and Terry Rossio adapting Tim Powers's novel, the 136-minute 2011 film stars Johnny Depp, Penélope Cruz, Ian McShane and Geoffrey Rush in a pirate adventure.
