Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull: An archaeologist in the Cold War
A closer look at the story
The Cold War is under way. Indiana Jones and his friend Mac only just escape a clash with Soviet agents at a remote airfield. The agents are led by the dangerous, sword-wielding Irina Spalko, and what they are after is a crystal skull with supernatural powers tied to a legendary Lost City of Gold. Soon afterwards Indy meets young Mutt Williams. Mutt's friend Professor Oxley, a colleague of Indy's, has been seized because he knows where the skull is, and Indy reluctantly heads for Peru to find him. Steven Spielberg directs David Koepp's script in this 122-minute 2008 adventure, which reunites Harrison Ford with Karen Allen and adds Cate Blanchett and Shia LaBeouf.
