A closer look at the story

In the late Bronze Age, two rising powers are on the brink of collision. Paris, a prince of Troy, convinces Sparta's queen, Helen, to abandon her husband Menelaus and sail away with him to Troy. On learning that the Trojans have taken his wife, Menelaus turns to his brother Agamemnon for help in recovering her. For Agamemnon this is a chance to extend his power that cannot be missed, and a vast Greek fleet sets sail for Troy. On the two sides stand legendary warriors such as Achilles and Hector. Directed by Wolfgang Petersen and written by David Benioff, the 163-minute 2004 film stars Brad Pitt, Eric Bana, Orlando Bloom and Sean Bean in an epic historical adventure.
