A closer look at the story
Young Thomas opens his eyes inside an area enclosed by towering walls, unable to recall a single thing about his past. He must now live alongside a group of boys who have made their own rules, while beyond the walls lies a gigantic labyrinth whose layout keeps shifting. Creatures called Grievers prowl the maze after dark and keep everyone on edge, but Thomas's curiosity unsettles the order of the place as he starts to find clues to a way out, and perhaps to why they were brought there. Adapted from James Dashner's novel and directed by Wes Ball, this 2014 production running 113 minutes stars Dylan O'Brien, Kaya Scodelario, Thomas Brodie-Sangster and Will Poulter in a science-fiction thriller.
