Carrie Mathison is one of the CIA's most gifted officers. Her bipolar disorder makes her volatile and unpredictable, yet she excels at her job. With the support of Saul Berenson, her mentor of many years, Carrie is a fearless agent who will risk everything for her missions, her own health and even her sanity included. In the first story, an American soldier believed to have been killed in Iraq unexpectedly comes home years after he vanished. The country greets him as a hero, but as the euphoria of his return dies down, questions start to emerge: is this soldier really a hero, or is he part of a sleeper cell planning a terrorist attack? Created by Alex Gansa and Howard Gordon and airing on Showtime from 2011 for eight seasons and 96 episodes, this political thriller stars Claire Danes as Carrie and Mandy Patinkin as Saul.
