Doraemon

A closer look at the story

Doraemon is a robot cat who has travelled from the 22nd century into the past. His mission is a very special one: to protect Nobita, a 10-year-old boy whose fate is heading towards a tragic future. Nobita is lazy, clumsy and forever getting into trouble. Doraemon's greatest asset is the pocket on his stomach, from which he can pull out secret, futuristic gadgets that might solve all sorts of problems. Things rarely go to plan, however, because Nobita is all too inclined to misuse these devices. As a result, inventions meant to help usually end up doing more harm than good, creating comic chaos along the way. Friends such as Shizuka, Suneo and Takeshi are also essential parts of these adventures. Airing on tv asahi since 2005, this Japanese anime features Wasabi Mizuta as the voice of Doraemon and Megumi Oohara as Nobita.
