I Am Legend

A closer look at the story

A man-made virus with no cure has turned most of humanity into bloodthirsty mutants. Robert Neville, the scientist who was unable to halt the outbreak, is immune to it, and he may be the last human left in the ruins of New York, perhaps in the whole world. For three years he has broadcast the same radio message every day in the hope of reaching other survivors. Yet he knows all too well that he is not alone in the deserted city. Francis Lawrence directs Akiva Goldsman and Mark Protosevich's take on the book by Richard Matheson; the 101-minute 2007 film stars Will Smith and Alice Braga in a tense science-fiction thriller.
