The Mike Douglas Show

A closer look at the story

Hosted by Mike Douglas, The Mike Douglas Show was a daytime talk programme in the US. When it started in 1961, it could be seen only in the Cleveland area for most of its first two years. In 1963 it went into syndication and stayed on the air until 1982. The programme was distributed by Westinghouse Broadcasting. For much of its run, it was produced at Westinghouse-owned stations in Cleveland and Philadelphia. Many famous names joined the programme over the years as guests or co-hosts. Pat Cooper, Burt Reynolds, Anne Meara and Jerry Stiller were among those who sometimes sat alongside Douglas as co-host.
