American Sniper

A closer look at the story

American Sniper follows the military career of Chris Kyle, a member of the U.S. Navy SEALs. Kyle sets himself one overriding purpose: keeping his fellow soldiers alive. That devotion turns him into one of the deadliest marksmen the American military has ever had. His uncanny precision saves a great many lives, but it also puts a price on his head among the insurgents. Kyle goes back to Iraq again and again. While he faces mortal danger at the front, he fights a second battle at home, trying to be the husband and father his family needs. When he finally comes back for good, he discovers that the war is not something he can simply leave behind. Clint Eastwood directed this 133-minute war film from 2014, written by Jason Hall and based on Kyle's own book. Bradley Cooper plays Chris Kyle and Sienna Miller plays his wife Taya, with Kyle Gallner, Cole Konis and Ben Reed also in the cast.
