A closer look at the story

A plane crash turns the lives of two co-workers upside down in an instant. They are the only ones to survive, and they find themselves on a deserted island cut off from the world. Back at the office, there were unsettled scores, old resentments and unresolved tension between them; but here, where finding food and shelter and holding out for rescue matter far more, they have to put that history aside if they want to stay alive. What looks at first like cooperation gradually turns into a contest of willpower and cunning that will decide which of them is stronger, craftier and tougher. Getting off the island alive may mean getting the better of the other. Directed by Sam Raimi, this 113-minute 2026 blend of horror, thriller and comedy pits Rachel McAdams against Dylan O'Brien.
