In Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, Captain Jack Sparrow's luck has run dry, and things are about to get much worse. His old foe, the fearsome Captain Salazar, has broken free of the Devil's Triangle along with his lethal crew of ghostly sailors. They mean to wipe out every pirate on the seas, and Salazar wants revenge on Jack above all. Jack learns that his only chance of survival is to find the fabled Trident of Poseidon. To track it down he has to enter an awkward partnership with Carina Smyth, a clever astronomer, and Henry Turner, a strong-willed young sailor in the British navy. At the helm of the Dying Gull, his tiny and rickety ship, Jack sets out to turn his fortunes around and slip out of Salazar's reach. Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg directed this 129-minute fantasy adventure from 2017, written by Jeff Nathanson. Johnny Depp plays Jack Sparrow, Javier Bardem plays Salazar and Geoffrey Rush plays Barbossa, with Brenton Thwaites and Kaya Scodelario also starring.
