The Storm
The Storm: Old friends trapped at a chaotic birthday party
Original title: Stormen
A closer look at the story
A group of old university friends gather at a luxury lodge to celebrate a birthday. They are planning a civilised, enjoyable celebration. Nature, however, has other plans for them. A fierce storm rolls in and leaves the friends stranded at the lodge. With no way out, what began as an elegant birthday party gradually spins out of control. Long-suppressed resentments, old scores and unexpected betrayals surface one after another. As the storm outside grows stronger, the emotional storm indoors becomes just as destructive, and the night descends into sheer chaos. Written and directed by Josephine Bornebusch, who also appears in the cast, this 101-minute 2026 Swedish comedy-drama stars Gustaf Skarsgård, Aliette Opheim, Filip Berg and Jonas Karlsson.
