Jurassic Park

Jurassic Park: Living dinosaurs break loose on an island park

KINONOOK / EN

A closer look at the story

Jurassic Park centres on the wealthy entrepreneur John Hammond and an astonishing ambition. His scientists extract blood from prehistoric mosquito fossils and use the DNA it contains to bring dinosaurs back to life. Hammond has quietly built a one-of-a-kind theme park on an island to put these creatures on show. Before it opens to the public, he brings in a team of experts, together with his two excited grandchildren, to tour the attraction and help settle the nerves of worried investors. The visit is meant to win their confidence, yet the tour quickly stops being fun: when the security systems shut down, the dinosaurs get free and everyone on the island is suddenly in grave danger. Steven Spielberg directed this 127-minute science-fiction adventure from 1993, adapted from Michael Crichton's novel by Crichton and David Koepp. Sam Neill plays Grant, Laura Dern is Ellie, Jeff Goldblum is Malcolm and Richard Attenborough is Hammond, with Bob Peck as Muldoon.
