Sons of Anarchy

A closer look at the story

The Sons of Anarchy form a lawless biker club whose many chapters reach across the United States and beyond. The series focuses on the club's first, founding chapter, the Redwood Original, usually known simply as SAMCRO. Holding sway over Charming, a little Californian town, the club runs both legitimate and illegal operations: alongside a car repair garage, it deals in gun-running and has a hand in the adult film business. It is constantly at war with rival bikers, racist gangs and the law. The club's president, Clay, believes in the old ways and in violence; his stepson Jax, the club's vice-president, wants to change how things are done. As Jax embarks on a personal mission to clean up SAMCRO's name and image, the conflict between the two shakes both the club and their family ties. Created by Kurt Sutter and running on FX from 2008 for seven seasons and 92 episodes, the series stars Charlie Hunnam and Katey Sagal.
