A closer look at the story
Trying to live an ordinary life under the name Shaun, Shang-Chi learns the hard way that the past he thought he had left behind is not finished with him. When the shadowy and deadly Ten Rings organisation draws him in, he has no choice but to face its leader, his own father, Xu Wenwu. The journey forces him to confront both his family's dark legacy and the question of who he wants to be. Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who wrote it with Dave Callaham, the 132-minute 2021 film stars Simu Liu, Tony Leung Chiu-wai, Awkwafina and Ben Kingsley in a superhero adventure driven by martial-arts action.
