A closer look at the story
Shape of My Heart is a Japanese romance about a woman and a man who switch bodies after an unexpected event. Suddenly, each of them finds themselves living in someone else's body. What is more, these two people come from completely different backgrounds and circumstances. Neither is used to the other's world; their habits, surroundings and outlooks on life could hardly be more different. The chaos caused by the swap turns both of their daily lives upside down. Yet this difficult process also leads them to get to know and understand each other. As each experiences the other's life from the inside, an unexpected closeness begins to grow between them. Shinji Imaoka wrote and directed this 91-minute 2024 romance, which stars Keisuke Koide and Kei Fubuki.
