Jackpot!

A closer look at the story

In the near future, a brand-new draw called the "Grand Lottery" is held. The jackpot, worth billions of dollars, is a fortune beyond anyone's dreams, but there is a catch: whoever kills the winner before the sun goes down can legally claim the money. Katie Kim ends up with the winning ticket entirely by mistake and at the worst possible moment. Suddenly the most hunted person in the city, Katie finds herself the target of crowds ready to do anything for the prize. Desperately looking for a way to survive, she reluctantly teams up with Noel Cassidy, an amateur lottery protection agent. Noel's offer is clear: in exchange for a cut of the jackpot, he will keep Katie alive until sundown. Directed by Paul Feig and written by Rob Yescombe, this 107-minute 2024 action comedy stars Awkwafina, John Cena and Simu Liu.
