9-1-1

A closer look at the story

9-1-1 focuses on the high-pressure world of the people who rush to the scene when an emergency call comes in: police officers, paramedics and firefighters. Every shift drops them into terrifying, startling and heartbreaking situations. From fires to crashes and from unbelievable rescues to moments of crisis, every call means someone's life is in their hands. But these heroes' struggles do not end when they take off their uniforms; while rescuing people at their most vulnerable, they are also wrestling with personal troubles of their own. Featuring characters such as Athena Grant, Buck, Hen, Chimney and Eddie, the series was created by Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk and Tim Minear; it began on FOX in 2018 and later moved to ABC, with Angela Bassett at the head of the cast.
