The Watchers

A closer look at the story

Mina, a young artist, is left all alone when her car breaks down in a vast, untouched forest in the west of Ireland. In search of help, she heads in among the trees. Deep in the woods she eventually finds a shelter, but it turns out to be no rescue. Mina becomes trapped inside this strange building alongside three strangers who, like her, are stuck in the forest. Every night, when darkness falls, mysterious creatures emerge to watch them. As the four strangers try to find a way out by daylight, they realise that each night is more dangerous than the last. Written and directed by Ishana Night Shyamalan and adapted from A. M. Shine's novel, this 102-minute 2024 fantasy horror stars Dakota Fanning, Georgina Campbell and Olwen Fouéré.
