A closer look at the story
Cut off from the rest of the world, the Abbott family must live in hiding from terrifying creatures that hunt by sound. In this new reality even the faintest noise can be fatal, so the family places every step with care, and arranges each moment of daily life around silence. For the tightly bonded Evelyn, Lee and their children, staying alive means remaining constantly alert and never making a mistake. Directed by John Krasinski, who wrote it with Bryan Woods and Scott Beck, the 91-minute 2018 film stars Emily Blunt, John Krasinski, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe in a tense horror thriller.
