Civil War

A closer look at the story

In the near future, the United States is teetering on the edge of civil war and collapse. The Western Forces, an armed alliance of states that have risen against the federal government, are preparing to strike the capital. Lee, a seasoned war photographer who has documented atrocities in conflicts all over the world, sets out on a perilous road trip with a small band of journalists. Among them is Jessie, an eager young photographer whom Lee has taken under her wing. The group's goal is to reach the capital and land one last interview with the president at the White House. As they travel the roads of a shattered country, they struggle both to stay alive and to report what is really happening. Written and directed by Alex Garland, the 109-minute 2024 film stars Kirsten Dunst, Wagner Moura, Cailee Spaeny and Stephen McKinley Henderson in a tense war drama.
