Fifty Shades of Grey

A closer look at the story

Literature student Anastasia Steele goes to interview Christian Grey, a young and wealthy businessman, for the campus newspaper in place of her ill roommate. The man she meets is both mysterious and dizzyingly attractive, and Christian, for reasons he cannot explain, is drawn to Ana as well. Inexperienced in love and relationships, she lets herself be carried into an affair with him. Christian, however, has private desires that nobody knows about, ones that test the line between pain and pleasure, and Ana must decide how far she is willing to step into his world. Adapted by Kelly Marcel from E.L. James's novel and directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, the 125-minute 2015 film stars Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan in an erotic romantic drama.
