A closer look at the story
Leonard Shelby has only one purpose left in life: to find whoever raped and killed his wife. A huge obstacle stands in his way, however. Since an accident he has had a rare memory condition that no treatment can fix, one that wipes out recent events; while he can recall his life before the accident, he forgets what happened a few minutes earlier, where he was heading or why. For Leonard, tracking down the killer becomes a relentless struggle against time and against his own memory. Christopher Nolan wrote and directed this 113-minute 2000 film, which stars Guy Pearce, Carrie-Anne Moss and Joe Pantoliano in a mind-bending mystery thriller.
