A closer look at the story
Adrián Doria, a fast-rising businessman in Barcelona, stands accused of killing his lover, Laura. Before the case goes to court, he spends one night alone with Virginia Goodman, a lawyer known for preparing witnesses, to shape a statement that will hold up. As Adrián tells the story from the beginning, Virginia picks out its gaps and contradictions one after another and presses him to reveal what he has been leaving out.
