Super Size Me: Thirty days of nothing but fast food

KINONOOK / EN

A closer look at the story

Documentary maker Morgan Spurlock decides to test the effect of fast food on the human body by using himself as the subject. The rules are simple: for thirty days he will eat three meals a day from the McDonald's menu only and do no exercise at all. Throughout the experiment an internist, a gastroenterologist, a cardiologist and a nutritionist keep regular checks on him. His personal trial broadens into a look at American eating habits and the country's struggle with obesity. Written and directed by Spurlock, the 100-minute 2004 documentary tackles a serious subject with a wry sense of humour.
