A closer look at the story
Three years after Jurassic World collapsed, Isla Nublar has been left deserted. When the island's long-dormant volcano starts to awaken, the surviving dinosaurs face extinction for a second time. Claire Dearing, who once ran the park and treated the animals as products, is now a different person; she has set up a group dedicated to protecting dinosaurs and wants to get them off the island. The one person she can turn to for this perilous task is Owen Grady, who has a special bond with the creatures. Once they reach the island on their rescue mission, though, things quickly spiral out of control. Directed by J. A. Bayona and written by Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly, the 129-minute 2018 film brings back Chris Pratt as Owen and Bryce Dallas Howard as Claire, with Rafe Spall and Justice Smith joining them.
