Red, White & Royal Blue

A closer look at the story

Alex Claremont-Diaz is the son of the President of the United States; Henry is a prince of Britain. A long-running grudge exists between them. An unpleasant scuffle between the two at a royal event lands them all over the tabloids in an instant. What was a personal rivalry suddenly becomes a threat to relations between the US and Britain. To head off a possible diplomatic crisis, the pair are made to put on a show of friendship, pretending to be friends in front of the cameras. But the more time they spend together, the more the ice between them begins to melt, and years of friction give way to something neither of them saw coming. Written and directed by Matthew López and adapted from Casey McQuiston's novel, this 118-minute 2023 romantic comedy stars Taylor Zakhar Perez and Nicholas Galitzine, with Uma Thurman also in the cast.
