A closer look at the story
Having fallen from grace in London and spent time in rehab, the eccentric detective Sherlock Holmes ends up in Manhattan. His wealthy father has set a condition for his new life, and it is Sherlock's worst nightmare: living with a sober companion who will help him stay clean. That companion is Dr. Joan Watson, a successful surgeon until she lost a patient and her licence. Watson sees the new job as both a way of helping people and a way of making amends for her past. But the restless, unconventional Sherlock is unlike anyone she has looked after before. Over time, the pair become a unique team, cracking the cases the New York Police Department considers impossible. Created by Robert Doherty and airing on CBS from 2012 for seven seasons and 154 episodes, this crime drama stars Jonny Lee Miller and Lucy Liu.
