A closer look at the story

The year is 2006. Chris Hansen, host of "To Catch a Predator", is driven by a burning desire to make television history. What starts out looking like a moral mission soon turns into something else entirely. Ambition, hunger for fame and an obsession with ratings begin to overshadow the show's original purpose, and what emerges is a power game that has spun out of control. When Hansen and his team head to Texas chasing a big "catch", events take a turn they never anticipated. A high-stakes operation goes horribly wrong. Hansen's glossy dream of stardom sours into a nightmare of justice staged for the cameras. Directed by Lance Oppenheim and written by Ajon Singh, this 110-minute 2026 drama stars Robert Pattinson as Chris Hansen, with Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo and Phoebe Bridgers also in the cast.
