A closer look at the story
Henry Roth works as a vet in Hawaii and is a practised charmer who steers clear of anything serious. When he meets Lucy, though, he begins to feel things he has never felt before. Lucy has a very rare problem: she has no short-term memory and wakes every morning having forgotten the day before entirely. For Henry, that means introducing himself again each day and winning Lucy's heart from scratch every time. Far from stopping him getting attached, this challenge makes him fall a little more in love with her every day. Directed by Peter Segal and written by George Wing, the 99-minute 2004 film stars Adam Sandler and Drew Barrymore in a warm romantic comedy.
