King of the Hill: A Texas propane salesman and his family

KINONOOK / EN

A closer look at the story

King of the Hill is an animated comedy set in Texas about propane salesman Hank Hill and his family. Hank is a man with deeply conservative beliefs regarding God, country and family, and he holds firmly to his principles. At home, though, his family keeps surprising him: his wife Peggy, a substitute Spanish teacher with an overabundance of self-confidence; his son Bobby, who dreams of becoming a comedian; and his rather naive niece, Luanne. Hank's values and sense of right and wrong are frequently put to the test by the situations Hank, his relatives and his beer-drinking friends next door keep landing in. These small crises, arising from everyday life, become stories that make viewers laugh and, now and then, think. Created by Mike Judge and Greg Daniels, the show premiered on FOX in 1997 before later moving to Hulu, with Mike Judge voicing Hank and Kathy Najimy and Pamela Adlon also in the cast.
