Before I Go to Sleep

A closer look at the story

Ever since a terrible accident years ago, Christine wakes up every morning remembering nothing at all. Each night as she sleeps, her memory is effectively wiped clean. The face in the mirror is a stranger's; she cannot remember Ben, the man in the photographs labelled "this is your husband". Forced to relearn her own life every day, Christine tries to piece things together to reach her dark past. In this effort, she has the help of her doctor, Dr. Nasch. But one day, new and frightening truths come to light and change everything. Christine starts to doubt her husband's honesty and soon realises she should not trust anyone around her. Written and directed by Rowan Joffé and adapted from S.J. Watson's novel, this 92-minute 2014 mystery thriller stars Nicole Kidman, Colin Firth and Mark Strong.
