Se7en: A killer guided by the deadly sins
A closer look at the story
Somerset, a seasoned detective, and Mills, his inexperienced new partner, are assigned to a string of gruesome murders. It soon becomes clear that each killing has been staged around one of the seven deadly sins. While Somerset researches each of the sins in turn hoping to understand how the murderer thinks, Mills mocks his approach, yet both know they are racing the clock to prevent the next death. Directed by David Fincher from a script by Andrew Kevin Walker, the 127-minute 1995 film stars Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow in a dark, harrowing crime thriller.
