Blade Runner 2099, the new series in the Blade Runner universe, arrives on Prime Video on November 25, 2026. The eight-episode series is set fifty years after Blade Runner 2049, and all episodes will reach viewers on the same day. According to Amazon, it will be available in more than 240 countries and territories.
The story
Michelle Yeoh plays Olwen, a Replicant Blade Runner nearing the end of her life. Hunter Schafer plays Cora, a fugitive forced to take on a Blade Runner identity. In the official description, Olwen and Cora hunt a runaway Replicant who is hiding a truth that could bring down their fragile city. The series returns to the franchise’s familiar questions about the line between human and Replicant.
Cast and crew
The showrunner and executive producer is Silka Luisa, known for Shining Girls. Ridley Scott, director of the original Blade Runner, is among the executive producers. The cast includes Dimitri Abold and Lewis Gribben alongside Yeoh and Schafer, and one report lists Tom Burke too.
The trailers
The first trailer came out in late July. A second trailer and new key art were presented at New York Comic Con on October 10. Because the series has not yet aired, there are no reviews.
