Dagsrevyen

A closer look at the story

Dagsrevyen is the daily news programme broadcast every evening at 19:00 on NRK1, the main channel of Norway's public broadcaster NRK. Its first bulletin went out in 1958, and Dagsrevyen has kept the same name ever since. In 2007 the programme was briefly shown at the same time on NRK2, the broadcaster's news channel, but that arrangement ended within the same year. Some 200 people work on the programme at its headquarters at Marienlyst in Oslo. Unlike its rivals, Dagsrevyen aims to run fewer stories, but longer and more in-depth ones. NRK's network of journalists across the country and its correspondent offices abroad supply the news, and footage obtained through the European Broadcasting Union is also used. The programme is always presented by two anchors, one woman and one man. The bulletins broadcast on Saturdays and Sundays go by the names Lørdagsrevyen and Søndagsrevyen.
